Software Engineer; CMake & Nix

Coders Connect is partnering with a globally established engineering organisation expanding its advanced robotics division in Zurich
.

They are building complex, high-performance robotic systems — and are looking for a senior engineer to own and elevate their build and packaging infrastructure.

This is a foundational role.

You won’t be “supporting builds.”

You will define how the entire robotics software stack is built, versioned, packaged, and deployed.

You will design, implement and maintain:

• A robust CMake-based build system
• A scalable Nix-based package management ecosystem

You’ll collaborate closely with software engineers and Dev Ops specialists to streamline builds, reduce friction, and increase reproducibility across the organisation.

This role sits at the core of engineering velocity.

• 5+ years professional experience with CMake (advanced level)
• Strong hands-on experience with Nix/NixOS in production environments
• Experience managing complex internal & external dependencies
• CI/CD exposure (Git Lab pipelines or similar)
• Working knowledge of C++ and Python

• ROS2 exposure
• Experience supporting robotics or embedded systems environments

• You shape engineering productivity at system scale
