CSCS develops and operates a high-performance computing and data research infrastructure that supports world-class science in Switzerland. Its user laboratory is available to domestic and international researchers in academia, industry, and the business sector. The centre is operated by ETH Zurich and has offices at its data centre in Lugano and in Zurich.

As a Software Engineer in the Machine Learning team, you’ll work at the intersection of AI/ML and HPC, contributing to real-world projects such as large-scale model training, inference workflows, and performance-optimized systems. This fixed-term position (initially 2 years, with potential for extension) offers a unique opportunity to grow your skills and make a tangible impact in a dynamic, research-driven environment.

• Collaborate with researchers to solve complex problems in AI/ML and HPC.
• Contribute to the design, development, and optimization of software and systems.
• Enable cutting-edge AI workflows, including large language model training, fine-tuning, and inference at scale.
• Own high-impact tasks from design through delivery and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
