Join Zurich as a Data Scientist within our AI Platforms team and be part of an exciting technology transformation journey. As we pursue our ambition to become Australia’s Leading Digital Insurer, you’ll play a key role in developing and implementing advanced AI solutions that drive innovation and deliver real value for our customers. Working in a collaborative and dynamic environment, you’ll support Zurich’s data-driven transformation by applying analytical techniques to solve real-world challenges in the insurance sector.

This is a unique opportunity to grow your skills alongside experienced data scientists and cross-functional teams, unlocking insights from data, supporting the deployment of machine learning models, and enhancing operational efficiency. You will also be responsible for the following:

• Developing and optimising AI solutions using frameworks such as Lang Graph, Langchain, and Deep Agent, with support from senior colleagues.
• Implementing NLP techniques to extract insights from unstructured text data.
• Applying machine learning methods to build and maintain predictive models.
• Collaborating with data teams to ensure data quality and availability for analytics and model development.
• Working with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Assisting in building and deploying Lambda APIs to facilitate data accessibility across the organisation.

We’re looking for a curious, collaborative, and growth-minded data scientist with foundational experience, ready to make a tangible impact and help drive Zurich’s digital transformation.

In order to be successful, you will have the following:

• A Bachelor’s or higher degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3–6 years’ experience in data science or analytics roles, ideally with exposure to machine learning and NLP.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with AWS tools such as Sagemaker, Textract, Comprehend, and Lambda.
• Experience building LLM solutions, especially agentic AI solutions, and familiarity with data warehousing platforms like Snowflake.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to professional development and a willingness to learn new tools and methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
