Aboutthis role
We are seeking an experienced SAP EDI Expert to manage the seamless integration of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) platforms, supporting logistics processes, and optimizing data exchange with internal and external systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP ECC 6.0, iDoc processing, and ABAP, and will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of EDI systems. This role also includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support and requires strong project management skills to implement new EDI solutions.
Responsibilities- Customer and Supplier Integration (with LE Expertise Focus):
Lead and support the integration of new customers and suppliers via EDI, applying strong SAP Logistics Execution (LE) knowledge across VDA, EDIFACT, and ODETTE standards. - Subject-Matter Expertise & Enablement:
Act as the primary SAP LE and EDI expert within the team, providing hands‑on guidance, best practices, and technical direction to strengthen internal capabilities where expertise is currently limited. - Technical Support & Problem Resolution:
Provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support for EDI and LE-related processes, ensuring stable and efficient operation of systems including installation, configuration, upgrades, and issue resolution. - EDI System Implementation & Optimization:
Drive the implementation, enhancement, and long‑term stability of EDI platforms, with a strong focus on logistics execution processes and end‑to‑end data flow. - Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Proactively monitor EDI and LE-related interfaces and processes, analyze disruptions, and resolve complex technical and functional issues. - Integration & Interface Management:
Design, develop, and maintain interfaces between SAP and internal/external systems to optimize logistics-related data exchange. - Knowledge Transfer, Documentation & Training:
Create clear technical and functional documentation and actively train and mentor team members to build sustainable in‑house LE and EDI expertise. - Project Leadership:
Lead and support EDI and logistics-related projects, contributing expertise during design, implementation, and rollout of new solutions. - Customer & Supplier
Collaboration:
Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure reliable, efficient, and transparent logistics data exchange.
- Strong SAP LE Expertise (Key Requirement):
Deep, hands‑on experience in SAP ECC 6.0 Logistics Execution (LE), including inbound and outbound logistics, goods receipt, shipping, and related processes. We are specifically looking for someone who can bring strong LE know‑how to a team that is currently building expertise in this area. - EDI & iDoc Expertise:
Extensive experience with SAP iDoc processing, including mapping and implementation of customer and supplier EDI messages using VDA, EDIFACT, and ODETTE standards. - SAP ABAP Proficiency:
Strong knowledge of SAP ABAP, including Workbench and transport management, with the ability to analyze and support EDI- and LE-related developments. - Consultative Mindset:
Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex topics, and proactively guide stakeholders and team members through LE- and EDI-related challenges. - Languages:
Advanced English (C1/C2);
German is a strong plus.
