30B in both private and institutional client AuM is seeking a highly qualified Investment Manager to join our Asset Allocation Team. The team is responsible for SAA modelling, portfolio construction and optimisation. This role combines asset allocation with practical portfolio management, requiring both theoretical expertise and hands‑on implementation capabilities. You’ll help create model portfolios for both private and institutional client mandates which will require you to tackle difficult optimisation problems, handle complex individualised constraints and ensure optimal solutions are implemented.

• Assist in development and implementation of advanced portfolio optimisation tools in Python and R, including our proprietary iPortfolio platform
• Support active management of multi‑asset portfolios using optimisation and general top‑down techniques
• Collaborate on implementation of academic asset allocation models:
  Risk Budgeting, PCA, Mean‑Variance Optimisation, (Hierarchical) Risk Parity, Mean‑ETL and more
• Assist in development of quantitative tools for Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA), Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA), performance monitoring and risk decomposition
• Support analysis and selection of financial instruments across all asset classes (ETF, Index Funds, Mutual Funds, etc.)
• Assist with trade execution and portfolio management for institutional funds
• Support development of new private client mandate concepts and investment solutions
• Assist team head with various analytical requests and operational tasks

• University degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related disciplines
• Minimum 5 years of experience in portfolio management or related analytical roles
• CFA certification preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of modern portfolio theory, risk models, and optimisation algorithms
• Experience with proprietary risk attribution models and custom risk frameworks
• Solid understanding across all asset classes and ability to implement and enhance theoretical asset allocation frameworks from first‑principles thinking with conceptual clarity
• Excellent analytical skills and interest in solving complex problems
• Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail across both strategic and routine operational tasks
• Capacity to handle demanding workloads in a fast‑paced and high‑stakes environment
• Strong Python and R capabilities with focus on computational efficiency
• Knowledge of machine‑learning techniques for portfolio optimisation and risk management advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/VBA), financial applications (Bloomberg) and portfolio management systems (Avaloq and/or Charles River an asset)
• Fluency in English required, German is highly useful, additional languages an advantage
