Senior Underwriter Power

Your responsibility

• Underwrite 'Power Accounts' and steer the portfolio according to Helvetia Group Underwriting Directives and Guidelines.
• Develop new business within the Power Sector making full use of already well-established connections as well as developing new regions and technology offerings.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers / clients with a clear focus on profitability.
• Evaluate technical risks in addition to Natural Catastrophe Exposures and complex Business Interruption exposure.
• Determine exposures, normal loss expectancies, maximum possible loss scenarios.
• Attend national and international client and broker meetings as well as site inspections where necessary.
• Close cooperation with our claims department for large and complex claims.

• University Degree in a relevant field.
• Extensive experience in Power Underwriting as a broker and / or as an underwriter within the Power Sector. Experience working in a key insurance hub such as London would be a great asset.
• Have strong business acumen and be well informed of the Power Markets you operate in with close connections to Risks Managers of small to large Power Utilities.
• Recognition by your peers as a knowledgeable and competent Power Underwriter would be a strong positive.
• Tackle challenges with passion and demonstrate high expectations of own performance.
• Develop stable partnerships across departmental boundaries and cooperate to meet common goals.
• Positive, flexible, and team‑oriented approach.
• Must have a high proficiency in English. Other language skills such as German, French, Spanish for example are an advantage.
