Senior Team Lead - Infrastructure

This role exists because engineering teams scaled faster than the infrastructure underneath them.

The organisation is building complex, product-grade robotics systems and needs a senior infrastructure leader who can both lead people and go deep technically
. You’ll own the foundations that engineering teams rely on every day from CI/CD and observability to reliability, security, and cost control.

This is a hands-on leadership role
. If you’re looking for pure management or pure IC work, this won’t be the right fit.

• Lead Infrastructure, Dev Ops, and Tooling teams (line management + technical leadership)
• Own reliability, scalability, security, compliance, and cost efficiency of the platform
• Set standards for CI/CD, observability, and developer experience across engineering
• Define and execute the infrastructure roadmap aligned with product and R&D milestones
• Provide clear technical direction and unblock teams when things get hard
• Stay hands‑on in the stack — reviewing, designing, and contributing where it matters
• Hire and grow senior engineers through mentoring, coaching, and high‑quality reviews
• Operate production systems with real responsibility (including on‑call ownership)

• Strong background in Infrastructure / Dev Ops engineering
• Proven experience leading and hiring engineers (this is essential)
• 5+ years as a senior IC before stepping into leadership
• Experience building hybrid cloud/on-prem platforms and taking them to production
• Comfortable balancing pragmatism with long‑term platform thinking
• Strong system design skills across compute, networking, storage, and observability
• Calm, decisive operator when systems are under pressure
