Test Manager; Team Leader System Testing

Zurich Instruments is a technology leader in control systems for Quantum Computers. These consist of a deep stack of electronics and control software. As our customers are pushing their Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) to ever-increasing numbers of qubits, the size of our systems grows accordingly. As systems grow in size, achieving high reliability and availability becomes even more challenging and important.

Hardening complex systems comprising software and dedicated electronic devices is your passion. You are experienced in building and continuously improving the required test systems. Together with our team of highly skilled test and verification engineers and scientists, you further increase the test coverage and operate the system to ensure industry-grade stability and SW quality of our products.

As Zurich Instruments is part of the Rohde & Schwarz Group, you are in close exchange with a large community of technical experts.

• Lead the System Testing Team consisting of five highly skilled system verification engineers.
• Drive all aspects of people development in close collaboration with ZI’s HR team
• You shape our roadmap for system testing and SW quality and drive its implementation. This may include the selection of tools and processes, setting test strategies, assessing the test coverage, as well as training.
• You align with all the stakeholders of SW quality, including product management, the agile development teams, and our Engineering Productivity Team.
• In short, you further grow the system stability and software quality of our products.

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in SW- or Electrical Engineering, or in an equivalent field.
• Strong focus on SW- and test-development - ideally in Python.
• Familiar with aspects of Firmware, specialized HW, and laboratory test equipment.
• At least 3 years of experience in team leadership.
• ISTQB® Advanced Level Test Management (CTAL-TM) or comparable qualification
• At least 3 years of practical experience in testing systems based on specialized HW, FW, and SW.
• Outstanding organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
