Job Summary
The R&D Test Engineer provides technical support in software and setup development for the Advance Technology team, leading activities to implement new experimental setups, carrying out testing of laser devices, setup maintenance and test optimisation procedures.
Roles & Responsibilities- Development of specialised tests in collaboration with R&D engineers
- Design and CAD drawing
- Acquiring necessary components
- Building the test setups
- Writing user‑friendly software for automation and data acquisition
- Maintenance of existing R&D setups
- Improvement and optimisation of existing setups
- Carrying out tests and providing initial test data analysis
- Reporting and documentation
About You
You will have an A.S., B.S. or higher from a technical high school or university, specialising in either electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
Previous practical experience and/or apprenticeship are beneficial.
Skills & Other Requirements- Good analytical, problem‑solving, technical, and communication skills.
- Responsible for testing processes on semiconductor laser devices, specifically DC/RF electro‑optical tests (on wafer‑and‑packaged device level).
- Develop and implement new testing processes in collaboration with R&D.
- CAD skills.
- IT knowledge in test programming:
Python, Lab View, Lab View Vision, databases and SQL. - Mechanical design, optics, electronics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in an international environment (German, English).
