The future holder of the position will participate in research, teaching and services at the Religious Studies Seminar and the Irene M. Staehelin Centre for Evolutionary Anthropology and the Study of Religion and Women in Society. The professorship was created as a joint professorship between the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The ability and interest to communicate scientific findings to the general public is expected.
The teaching load is 2–4 semester hours.
Prerequisites for application are a degree in religious studies and/or a doctorate in religious studies and a research focus in the area of power structures, control mechanisms, discrimination and violence against women, feminist research, gender and cultural transformation. Willingness to cooperate with primatology is a required condition. Excellent German language skills are a necessity to be able to take up the position.
