Procurement Project Manager
For a leading pharmaceutical company in Rotkreuz we’re seeking a professional for a temporary assignment, with an immediate start for one year.
Tasks & Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement project plans, considering timelines, budgets, and resource requirements
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables
- Monitor and control project execution
- Monitor and mitigate risk – Monitor the progress of projects and proactively identify and report any projected risks to overall targets or timelines as well as potential mitigation strategies. Resolve issues and project risks on a timely basis and elevate issues and risks where appropriate
- Planning, design, and leadership of global Sourcing & Benchmarking projects
- Lead cross‑functional collaboration with the internal and external partners; leading and coordinating cross‑functional teams
- Drive close alignment with relevant stakeholders within Roche Diagnostics and across Roche Group
- Lead global, cross‑functional projects to expand and continuously improve the modern procurement process landscape
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements/improvement potential
- Leverage modern digital procurement technology to drive an efficient, compliant Sourcing & Benchmarking process
- Continuously assess and improve procurement processes, identifying opportunities for automation, streamlining, and cost savings
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to enhance overall procurement efficiency
- Run Data Analytics and Data Intelligence to provide weekly and monthly reports to the Procurement organization, giving stakeholders fact‑based insights and supporting end‑to‑end governance and pipeline health
- University degree, preferably in Engineering, Business, Finance or Life Sciences
- 5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience delivering measurable value in strategic sourcing, enterprise cost reduction, and/or operational efficiency projects and/or from digitalising procurement processes, preferably within global pharmaceutical or medical‑device manufacturing
- Familiarity with project‑management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum and Waterfall
- Demonstrated understanding of major direct‑spend categories and potential cost levers or market fundamentals
- Strong background in strategic sourcing and supplier management in new product development and introduction in the medical‑device or pharmaceutical industry, or other highly regulated industry
- 3+ years of project‑management experience, including risk management, project reporting, and delivering quantitative and qualitative results in complex environments
- Strong experience in upward communication and senior stakeholder management, supported by good interpersonal competencies (communication, influencing)
- Strong capability in negotiation and conflict resolution
- Documented international strategic sourcing experience and/or cross‑functional, international projects in procurement
- Experience in new product and/or technology‑transfer processes and requirements
- Experience in working in complex global matrix environments and in cross‑functional settings (e.g. supply chain, finance, quality, regulatory)
- Strong analytical experience including the ability to drive insights from large and varied data sources, data‑visualisation applications (e.g. Tableau, Qlikview) and database applications (e.g. Access)
- Experience with enterprise systems (SAP, Oracle) and procure‑to‑pay tools such as GEP, Ariba, Emptoris and SAP
- Strong data‑analysis and data‑intelligence skills using AI tools and other available tools (****)
- High proficiency in English
- Postgraduate business‑related qualification, and additional qualification in procurement or project management
- Knowledge of Python or any other programming language
- Life sciences or management consulting industry experience
- Professional purchasing (e.g. CIPS), project‑management (e.g. PMP, Prince2) or finance‑related licences or certifications considered advantageous
- Proficiency in German
