Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures, communicate the process, and take x‑rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Use and maintain a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
  • Ensure equipment is in working order, reporting all malfunctions or concerns to a supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Process and enter radiological procedure information into the electronic health record as soon as completed and provide additional reports and information as needed.
  • Maintain examination rooms by ensuring rooms are clean and stocked, sterilizing and cleaning equipment as required by standard procedures.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all situations.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain applicable professional affiliations and certifications as required.
  • Attend and participate in required organizational meetings and committees as requested.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a course in Radiological Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists.
  • Maintain certification with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (AART) and hold an active Indiana state license.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Requirements: RT Indiana, ARRT.
Working Conditions /

Physical Requirements

The work environment is an enclosed space with radiologic equipment. Employees may be exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment. The job requires standing for extended periods, excessive walking, stooping, bending, stretching, and lifting of items up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Patients weighing up to 300 pounds may be lifted into appropriate positions for equipment operation.

Vision must be correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and review developed films. Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts and to interact directly with patients. Regular interaction with staff, physicians, and the public is required. The work may be stressful at times.
