The successful candidate:
Responsibilities- Maintains competencies and is cross-trained to staff assigned each shift for census fluctuations or replacement periods.
- Assumes responsibility of the professional clinical registered nurse role and the job requirements of the clinical area assigned.
- Supports flexible staffing needs to meet patient care area requirements (refer to CRC Guidelines and Expectations).
- Interprets and operates cardiac and other invasive and noninvasive monitors; recognizes rhythms/trends and institutes appropriate interventions.
- Attends in-house codes and rapid response calls as required.
- Cares for patients with complex needs, including hemodynamically compromised and mechanically ventilated patients.
- Initiates and maintains complex IV therapy, including thrombolytic administration, vasoactive medications, central IV catheters, dialysis catheters, and arterial lines.
- Safe use of less invasive life-support modalities (e.g., BiPAP, ETCO2, arterial pressure-based CO/CI & SVO2 monitor, core temperature monitoring).
Your qualifications should include:
- 1–2 years of critical care experience in one or more of the following areas:
Intensive Care Unit, Step Down, Stem Cell, or Emergency Department. - Telemetry competency: ability to read and operate cardiac monitor, recognize normal/abnormal rhythms, and intervene appropriately.
- Graduate of NLNAC or CCNE accredited nursing program; licensed in the state of IL.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as appropriate for population served.
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification within 6–12 months of hire.
