Retail Manager

Gateway Mission has been dedicated to serving the homeless and less fortunate since 1903. We provide support through practical aid and transformative programs, aiming to help individuals overcome homelessness permanently. This is a full-time, on-site position for a Retail Manager located in Zeeland, MI. The Retail Manager will oversee daily retail operations, supervising staff and volunteers, managing inventory, and ensuring excellent customer service. Responsibilities include meeting sales and performance goals, training team members, maintaining store organization, and implementing strategies to improve the store’s operations. As a key representative of Gateway Mission’s values, you will help foster a welcoming and Christ-centered shopping environment.

• Leadership and Team Management skills:
  Proven experience in supervising staff, training teams, and fostering a positive work environment.
• Retail Operations skills:
  Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, sales tracking, and cash handling.
• Customer Service abilities:
  Strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure a positive shopping experience for customers and engage effectively with a diverse community.
• Organizational and Problem-Solving skills:
  Ability to prioritize tasks, handle logistical challenges, and drive strategic improvements to achieve performance goals.
• Understanding of Gateway Mission's values and an alignment with its Christ-centered mission and commitment to serving the community.
• Previous retail or management experience and proficiency with retail software applications are preferred but not required.
