The OpportunityWe are partnering with organizations in Zeeland that are seeking Design Engineers. Key Responsibilities- Develop and refine mechanical designs for new and existing products, components, or systems.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D engineering drawings according to industry standards.
- Conduct design analysis, including FEA or tolerance stack-ups, to ensure product performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on design requirements, cost, and performance.
- Support the prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs, iterating as necessary based on results.
- Generate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including Bills of Material (BOMs) and specifications.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, and stress analysis.
- Demonstrated knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, welding) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical designs.
- Ability to create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Hands‑on experience with manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, welding).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and physical product testing.
- Proficiency in advanced simulation and analysis software (e.g., FEA, CFD).
