Tooling Engineer - Zeeland Area

Salary Range: $72,000 - $111,000 depending on experience

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and molds.
• Analyze tooling performance data to identify and implement improvements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related production issues and breakdowns.
• Specify, procure, and manage new tooling projects from concept to production.
• Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs for all tooling assets.
• Ensure all tooling meets quality standards, safety regulations, and production requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product introduction and process optimization.

• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD) for tooling design, analysis, and modification.
• Deep understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, machining) and their specific tooling requirements.
• Strong knowledge of tool materials, coatings, and heat treatment processes for optimizing tooling performance and lifespan.
• Proven experience in tooling design, fabrication, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with metrology and inspection equipment (e.g., CMM, calipers) to ensure tooling accuracy and part quality.

• Experience with FEA or mold flow simulation software.
• Knowledge of additive manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.
• Proficiency in advanced metrology techniques (e.g., CMM programming, laser scanning).
• Demonstrated application of Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles to tooling processes.
