GeneralPurpose
- The purpose of this position is to provide engineering support and documentation for the creation, modification and maintenance of nonstandard products.
- Applies basic problem‑solving skills to improve safety, quality, and efficiencies of equipment.
- Quickly diagnoses machine issues and implements proper countermeasures.
- Makes decisions based on sound engineering principles.
- Follows engineering and quality processes.
- Works cross‑functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, Controls, OEMs, Purchasing, CAM, and Industrial Engineering.
- With supervision, initiates equipment reliability and process‑improvement projects based on data, observations, and operations input.
- Has experience with automation and wood‑working equipment.
- Participates in continuous improvement projects.
- Has basic knowledge of part‑print reading and interpretation.
- Is detail oriented to ensure accuracy of information delivered.
- Participates in continuous learning, e.g., educational and training opportunities, and keeps an open attitude toward new engineering ideas, methods, and technologies.
- Can operate PC‑based computer systems (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

- 2–4 years of experience in an engineering environment or as an Engineering Technician I.
- Experience with PC‑based computer systems and familiarity with standard programs such as Excel and Word.
- Ability to apply basic engineering procedures and practices.
- Ability to work to deadlines and complete tasks.
- Manages own workload and is self‑motivated.
- Team player skills.
- Mechanical aptitude to develop solutions to customer requests.
- Works under direct supervision.
