Bureau of Motor Vehicles Oversees driver and motor vehicle licensing and registration and continues to make services more convenient, efficient and cost-effective.
Job DescriptionOhio Department of Public Safety – Bureau of Motor Vehicles/Driver Exam Services/District 7 Zanesville
Work Hours:
Tuesday - Friday 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m. & Saturday 8:00 a.m.
- 2:30 p.m.
- Multiple pay increases over the first years of service!

- Directly supervises lower ranking examiners &/or supports personnel at a district level;
- Schedules, trains & evaluates employees assigned to the district;
- Oversees the daily operations of the facilities;
- Conducts written, oral & over the road license testing;
- Investigates complaints & documents facts relating to said complaints & issues discipline;
- Interacts with the public on a daily basis as the representative of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

QualificationsOption 1
- 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in laws & signs applicable for operation of motorized vehicles, to include commercial vehicles & Bureau of Motor Vehicles' policies & procedures governing testing for & issuance of driver licenses & commercial vehicle licenses;
- AND 1 yr. exp. in supervisory principles & techniques or providing work direction & training to other employees; valid Ohio Class ‘D’ Driver License.
Option 2
- 12 mos. exp. as Driver License Examiner 2 (Lead Worker), 24333;
- AND valid Ohio Class ‘D’ Driver License.
Option 3
- 12 mos. exp. as CDL Field Representative 24332;
- AND 12 mos. exp. in providing work direction & training to other employees; valid Ohio Class ‘D’ Driver License.
Option 4
- 12 mos. exp. as Driver Examination Field Representative 24334;
- AND 12 mos. exp. in providing work direction & training to other employees;
- AND valid Ohio Class ‘D’ Driver License.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted aboven
Helpful Tips for Applying- Renewal of driver license as required by law. Successful completion of agency driving training course required before end of probationary period.
- A BCI/FBI fingerprint check, and background check, may be required on all selected applicants.
- A comparative analysis and/or drug-test may be a requirement of the hiring process.
Position is identified as safety sensitive & is subject to random drug & alcohol testing in accordance with DPS 501.24.
