We are the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). The Division of Forestry is headquartered at Blue Rock State Forest and serves Muskingum County. This role requires a Class A Commercial Driver's License with no restrictions.
What you will do- Operate heavy motorized equipment to complete a variety of construction and maintenance functions.
- Perform wildlife support (e.g., forest fire line construction, trails, culverts, roads & bridges).
- Perform general maintenance & repairs on equipment & buildings/grounds.
- Lead worker with equipment operation.
- Help maintain/repair paved & gravel forest roads, hiking trails, bridle trails, a primitive horse camp, bridges & culverts.
- Starting hourly pay of $22.60/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 4.5 years of service, with an end salary of $25.77/hr.

Formal education in arithmetic (fractions, decimals, percentages) and reading/writing English; 6 months of training or experience in operation of heavy construction equipment (examples listed) and related safety practices; valid commercial driver's license. For Division of Forestry Wildfire Program positions only, must complete Basic Firefighter Introduction to Fire Behavior (S-130/S-190).
