Overview
Job Summary: The essential duties are to perform routine and preventive maintenance and repair procedures on buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems.
Responsibilities- Perform minor repairs of buildings & equipment as applicable and needed.
- Make recommendations for major repairs of building & equipment as applicable and needed.
- Cleans and inspects light coverings and remove bugs or debris. Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Ensures all soap and sanitizer dispensers are full and in working condition.
- Monitors and test emergency lights monthly and annually, schedule service, maintain logs.
- Monitors fire extinguishers monthly, schedule annual service and maintain logs.
- Monitor exit lights, schedule repairs as applicable, maintain logs.
- Ensure infection control requirements (janitorial care) are met.
- Move furniture and equipment, setup and breakdown cubicles as needed for cleaning. Identify projects that require higher skilled crafts’ services.
- Ensure cleanliness of designated areas within facilities by performing basic custodial duties (cleaning, sweeping, mopping, etc.).
- Ensure annual functions (floor buffing, waxing, etc.) is completed according to schedule.
- Performs outside custodial duties such as removal of trash and debris as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Must have the ability to work with cleaning machines & tools.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. May be required to compose simple correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. May be required to solve mathematical computations and create miscellaneous drawings and schematics.
REASONING ABILITY: Must have ability to apply common understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Louisiana Driver's
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; airborne particles; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
