Job Duties- Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care through data gathering, planning and evaluation.
- Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with all patients, guests, family members and co-workers to ensure a quality patient experience.
- Adapts to rapid change in a positive manner throughout the day as needs of the unit / department change.
- Manages personal professional development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and self directed and demonstrate good judgement.
- Good interpersonal and delegation skills.
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Required - High school diploma or equivalent.
Work ExperienceRequired - None.
CertificationsRequired - Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in state of practice.
Required - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred - IV therapy credentials.
Physical and Environmental DemandsHeavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Continuous exertion may be required at a production rate pace and may involve pushing and pulling of materials.
Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue. The incumbent works in a patient care area; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases.
Compliance & PrivacyRemains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
