Job
Join Onvida Health at Yuma Regional Medical Center. This role offers the opportunity to lead and develop a nursing team within the Behavioral Health department, partnering with physicians and multidisciplinary professionals to support patients, families, and the organization’s mission.
Responsibilities- Develop day-to-day management of the patient care area and direct staff activities.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff to coordinate patient care.
- Provide physical and psychological support for patients, families, and programs within the incumbent’s responsibility.
- Maintain nursing guidelines by monitoring staff competency and onboarding needs for patients served.
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Ensure quality of care by interpreting and applying hospital and nursing division standards of care.
- Ensure adherence to the state board of nursing, state nurse practice act requirements, and other governing regulations.
- Measure health outcomes and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Recruit, select, orient, and train nursing and auxiliary staff.
- Schedule and assign nursing staff, follow up on work results, and manage patient care requirements.
- Coach, counsel, and discipline staff to maintain performance and morale.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by implementing procedures and regulations; coordinate with other health care professionals as needed.
- Develop and implement infection-control policies, ensure proper medication administration and storage, and comply with controlled substance regulations.
- Maintain documentation of patient care services by auditing records.
- Ensure operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment, completing preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs.
- Maintain equipment inventories and evaluate new equipment and techniques.
- Manage nursing supplies inventory by tracking usage and identifying trends; approve requisitions and cost allocations.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through education, publications, networking, and professional societies.
- 3+ years related experience
- Associates degree
- AZ RN License
- BLS & Fingerprint Clearance Card
