ICU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – eligible for Arizona healthcare jobs

• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience in a Level I or II trauma hospital

• Proficiency with Epic EMR (Electronic Medical Records)

• Required

Certifications:

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

• Experience with ventilators, sedation, sepsis, pressors, DKA, cardiac, CHF, and respiratory cases

• Ability to titrate a wide variety of critical care ICU drips

• Must comply with 100-mile radius rule
ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in a busy ICU setting

• Manage nurse-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 (Med Surg ICU); 1:3 if no vents/drips

• Titrate and administer critical care drips (vasopressors, inotropes, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, sedatives, paralytics, analgesics, anticoagulants, insulin)

• Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and patient care technicians

• Float to other hospital units as needed (with adjusted patient ratios)

• Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR

• Participate in a one-day orientation and ongoing competency training
