Overview
The IT Technician, Level 2 configures, troubleshoots, and maintains computer hardware, software, and network systems with moderate supervision. This role supports internal users by responding to Help Desk requests and managing work through the ticket management system. The role requires strong troubleshooting capability, customer service skills, and participation in IT projects involving networking, specialized applications, and cybersecurity practices.
Location: Yuma, AZ
Reports to: IT Manager, Support & Field Services
Job Status: Full-Time, On-Site, Hourly
Responsibilities- Configure, install, and maintain workstations and peripheral devices.
- Perform system imaging, deployments, and hardware refreshes.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues, repair or replace components as needed.
- Install and configure software based on company standards and specifications.
- Provide user orientation and training on new software and computer equipment.
- Troubleshoot TCP/IP-related issues, including workstation connectivity, IP phones, cameras, and cabling.
- Plan and schedule system upgrades and preventative maintenance to reduce disruption.
- Maintain accurate incident, repair, and maintenance records in the ticketing system.
- Support and maintain local network environments to improve performance and reliability.
- Help ensure security, privacy, and integrity of networks, systems, and data repositories.
- Participate in IT projects requiring networking, application, and cybersecurity knowledge.
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on IT technical support experience
- Strong customer service skills with internal users, external customers, and vendors
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows 11, Office 365, and Active Directory
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Working knowledge of networking, telecommunications, internet security, and data privacy principles
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional preferred
- Fast-paced environment requiring prioritization and problem-solving
- Work in user areas and confined spaces, including under desks
- Lift and move equipment up to 40 lbs
- Travel up to 25% to support users and IT needs across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and operate company vehicles as needed
