Job Summary
The Workplace Violence Prevention Instructor delivers high‑quality de‑escalation and workplace violence prevention training to workforce members at Onvida Health as part of our organizational commitment to a safer work environment. This role supports the rollout of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) curriculum and plays a key role in equipping team members with tools to manage escalating behavior and ensure safety in patient, visitor, and staff interactions.
Instructors are certified in CPI's Advanced Physical Skills and may teach Advanced Physical Skills, Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention, and Verbal Intervention. Instructors are compensated per class and must be available for in‑person sessions on a flexible, as‑needed basis.
- Facilitate 1–3 CPI‑certified workplace violence prevention training sessions per month (3.5‑hour, 8‑hour, and 12‑hour formats) for clinical and non‑clinical healthcare staff.
- Maintain alignment with CPI curriculum and ensure consistent, professional delivery of content.
- Sign a contractor agreement with terms of engagement and confidentiality.
- Pass a background check prior to certification and instruction.
- Attend and maintain CPI certification (compensated by Onvida Health
). - Communicate effectively with the Organizational Development team regarding scheduling, class preparation, and materials; keep track of and return all training items.
- Provide a safe and engaging learning environment for participants.
- Log all training courses with the Organizational Development team and Crisis Prevention Institute.
- Adhere to organizational policies and expectations regarding professionalism, safety, and conduct.
- Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
- HS Diploma / GED
- High School Equivalency Diploma
- CPI Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills Certification
- 2 years prior experience in training, public safety, law enforcement, healthcare, behavioral health, or a related field

Work Status:
Full‑time (24 hours every two weeks) – Hourly pay: $50.00 –
Location:
Yuma Medical Center, Yuma, Arizona.
