SummaryThe VP & Chief Pharmacy Officer (CPO) is responsible for leading and managing pharmacy services across Onvida Health’s multiple campuses, including inpatient, outpatient, and clinical operations. The role ensures strategic growth, fiscal management, quality improvement, and human resources management while ensuring exceptional patient care and operational excellence.
ResponsibilitiesPlanning/Vision:
Provides vision, forward thinking, and strategic planning. Leads strategic planning, integrates with medical center plans, evaluates emerging technologies, and drives multi-campus pharmacy service strategies.
Fiscal Management:
Develops annual budgets, manages performance, ensures cost containment, and identifies revenue growth opportunities across all pharmacy services.
Customer Service:
Sets tone for respectful work environment, communicates with stakeholders, oversees internal and external communications, and serves as spokesperson for pharmacy services.
Operational Management / Quality:
Directs pharmacy operational activities, establishes performance standards, champions continuous quality improvement, and aligns services with regulatory compliance.
System Thinking:
Integrates pharmacy services across service lines, collaborates with nursing, clinical operations, and senior leadership, and implements evidence-based practices.
Human Resources Management:
Builds a skilled workforce, partners with HR on recruitment and retention, and fosters a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
Community:
Leverages system capabilities for community benefit, champions community involvement, and collaborates on public health outreach.

Credentials- PHARMACIST
- YRMC FLEET SAFETY CLEARANCE (FLEET)
- DOCTORATE DEGREE
- Education:
Pharm.
D. or equivalent advanced pharmacy degree. - Arizona Pharmacist license
- Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of pharmacy leadership experience, including multi-campus service line management, and at least 3 years of supervisory and strategic management in a health system.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex pharmacy operations and services across multiple settings.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget development, cost control, and performance management.
- Proven track record in leading change, driving strategic initiatives, and optimizing operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build relationships across diverse teams.
- Deep knowledge of pharmacy-related regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and patient safety standards.
- Experience with community outreach and promoting pharmacy services in regional healthcare settings.
- Master’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field.
- Board certification in clinical pharmacy or leadership (e.g., BCPS, BCACP, FASHP).
