The Patient Access Representative is responsible for completing the patient registration in a timely and accurate manner; secures all demographic and financial information, including Medicare/Medicaid, Third Party Liability (TPL), and Workers Compensation; verifies and/or notifies insurance company; completes cash deposits (co-pays, deductibles, self-pay); explains and answers registration questions on demand.

• Obtains accurate patient identification for walk-in arrivals, at bedside and/or at designated desk; explains Condition of Admission; educates on compliance and mandated forms.
• Collects cash, check or credit card payments and maintains cash drawer.
• Verifies/notifies insurance company by phone, fax, or website.
• Maintains work queues; notes encounters in EHR for follow up. Schedules and transcribes patient appointments and procedures.
• Conducts interviews with patient family members and/or insurance to answer questions or explain hospital policies; completes all financial assistance processes for self-pay, under insured, or uninsured patients.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Essential: HS DIPLOMA/GED
