Are you a dedicated general medicine physician seeking a flexible, impactful role that supports our nation's veterans? We are seeking qualified and compassionate providers to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across various locations in Arizona. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to vital veteran services on a PRN basis, with flexible scheduling and competitive pay, all while making a meaningful difference.
Responsibilities include conducting interview-based exams, physical assessments (range of motion testing, muscle strength testing), and completing necessary documentation. There is no prescribing or treatment involved. Providers will work either half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts, with multiple locations and schedules available to suit your availability. Quick credentialing and onboarding process ensure a seamless start.
Required Skills:
- Medical license in Arizona
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related general medicine fields
- Experience with assessment exams or veteran-specific evaluations preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform physical assessments and document findings accurately
Skills:
- Previous experience with Compensation & Pension exams or veteran-related healthcare
- Familiarity with medical documentation and report writing
- Certification in DMA or related training (optional, not required prior to start)
Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
- Prior experience with VA or government evaluations is advantageous but not mandatory
- Candidates must reside within specified radius for each location (e.g., within 50 miles for Flagstaff, 30 miles for Sierra Vista)
- Ability to travel locally; travel costs are included in pay rates
- No treatment or prescribing responsibilities
- Must complete mandatory training and exams; participation in the bonus program upon successful completion of initial exams
- This position does not reimburse certifications or portal training before start
