TITLE: PARA EDUCATOR/SPECIAL EDUCATION AIDE - LIFE

• LEAP: (Learners Excelling And Progressing) Lab/Resource setting with collaboration, monitor, co-teach and direct instruction service delivery.
• RISE: (Reaching Independence through Structured Education) Functional skills and modified curriculum classroom for students with mild/moderate disabilities.
• LIFE: (Learning In a Functional Environment) Functional skills and modified curriculum classroom for students with severe/profound disabilities.
• ABLE:> (Academic and Behavioral Learning Environment) Classroom for students with emotional and behavioral concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed;
• 48 College Hours, Associate's Degree or be able to complete Para Pro tests within 60 days of hire date;
• Will be required to successfully complete Paraprofessional training provided by the district.

REPORTS TO: Principal and Teacher

JOB GOAL: To help provide a smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare for classroom activities under supervision of certified teacher.
• Assist teacher with instructional classroom duties.
• Assist teacher with non-instructional classroom duties, including feeding, tube feeding, toileting (including changing diapers), clothing management, and transitions between classrooms and activities.
• Assist with an individual child's particular needs when called upon to do so.
• Perform clerical duties for assigned teacher.
• Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the principal may assign from time to time.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• 10-month year
• 174 Work Day Calendar
• 7 Hour Day
