About The Role
As part of the Americas team, SANY is seeking a detail-oriented and quality-driven PDI Associate to join our Yuba City, California operation. This role is critical to ensuring customers receive a high-quality, clean, safe, and reliable heavy construction equipment product.
The PDI Associate is responsible for inspecting, testing, and preparing heavy construction equipment prior to delivery. This position plays a key role in quality assurance, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction by identifying defects, ensuring proper installation of components and attachments, and maintaining accurate inspection documentation.
With current revenues just short of $1B, SANY America continues to make strong progress and significant investments in the Americas market; the organization is now pursuing an aggressive growth strategy and is looking to move quickly beyond this initial platform and increase market share.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Delivery Inspection & Equipment Preparation
- Test equipment components and systems prior to delivery
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems as required
- Inspect equipment for damage, missing components, and overall build quality
- Inspect painted surfaces for chips, scratches, or finish defects
- Properly document all inspections on PDI inspection forms and required systems
- Install attachments including buckets, thumbs, and couplers
- Shipping & Receiving Support
- Manage inbound and outbound paperwork for shipping and receiving machines
- Ship and receive machines and attachments in accordance with procedures
- Standardized Work & Performance
- Maintain a consistent work pace and perform tasks within defined process times
- Follow standardized work instructions and documented processes at all times
- Proactively notify supervisors, maintenance, or team members of quality or process issues
- Safety & Quality
- Perform all work in a safe manner and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Participate in safety discussions and actively identify unsafe condition
- Perform quality checks during and after each operation
- Accept feedback and participate in corrective actions and countermeasure development
- Continuous Improvement & Team Contribution
- Participate in Kaizen and problem-solving activities to improve processes and reduce waste
- Support 6S initiatives, ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
- Demonstrate strong attendance, punctuality, and proper call-in procedures
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing knowledge and supporting others
- Show initiative by anticipating needs, taking ownership of work, and contributing beyond assigned tasks
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Ability to work outdoors in varying and abnormal weather conditions
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience in the heavy equipment industry
- Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical or automotive systems
- Background in wet paint inspection or automotive/body shop quality environments
- Ability to be cross-trained across multiple inspection and preparation tasks

Physical Requirements
- PDI / WAREHOUSE – WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This role is performed in a warehouse and/or equipment inspection environment. Work involves frequent standing, walking, bending, and working around heavy equipment and machinery. Employees may be required to lift, push, or pull materials and components weighing up to 40 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures may occur.
