Engineering Interns
The City of Yuba City is recruiting Engineering Interns for a paid, part‑time, temporary position. The recruitment will close on March 30, 2026 at 5PM (PST). This is a great opportunity for an engineering student seeking on‑the‑job experience.
PositionUnder general supervision, interns will assist with field and office civil engineering work in the planning, professional design, and construction of City facilities and infrastructure including sewer, water, storm drains, street improvements, and traffic signals. Interns will contribute to active projects and gain real‑world experience in a professional and friendly work environment.

Work HoursInterns can work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during breaks (Winter, Spring, and Summer). Hours can be scheduled to meet the needs of the Department and the intern. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate must have a willingness to learn, work well in a team environment, follow instructions, complete tasks independently, and communicate and manage time effectively while balancing a variety of tasks and priorities.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent. Must be enrolled in at least six semester units or nine quarter units at an accredited college or university with coursework required towards a civil or mechanical engineering major.
ExperienceExperience in engineering or a related field is preferred.
License/CertificationValid California Class C driver’s license.
