The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part‑time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part‑time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year‑round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.

Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

• As a condition of employment, the position you are applying for will require that you provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fees charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI for the fingerprint report is the employee’s responsibility.
• Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee’s first day on the job.

Job Title: Part Time - Culinary Arts Instructor

Location: Lake County Campus - Clear Lake, CA

BASIC FUNCTION:

• Develop and deliver instructional lectures for culinary arts courses up to 10 hours/week
• Organize and teach all levels of culinary classes
• Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning
• Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses
• Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester
• Participate in department, division, and college‑wide initiatives and committees if desired

REQUIRED DUTIES:

Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

• Any associate degree and six years of full‑time occupational experience in the related field OR
• Any bachelor’s degree and two years of full‑time occupational experience in the related field
• Possess a California Community life credential in the subject matter area.
• Possession of a Serv Safe® Food Handler, Manager, and Responsible Alcohol Certification
• Equivalency Requirement: All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) by the application filing date. Alternatively, applicants must have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement.

Desired or preferred qualifications may include advanced culinary experience, teaching certifications, and additional culinary credentials.

Class I – VII (Based on degree and teaching experience). Salary range is not applicable for part‑time positions (.60 FTE
).

Part‑time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.
