Part Time - Art History Instructor
The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years. Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years; after two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

Job Title: Part Time - Art History Instructor
Location: Lake County Campus - Clear Lake, CA
Job DescriptionBASIC FUNCTION: Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Art courses up to 10 hours/week. Organize and teach all levels of Art classes. Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning. Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses. Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester. Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.
REQUIREDDUTIES
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s in art history, history of art and architecture, or visual culture/visual studies.
- Bachelor’s in art history & Master’s in history.
- Master’s in art with a recorded emphasis or concentration in art history.
- Equivalent qualifications recognized by the Yuba Community College District.
Experience: Preference may be given to candidates with lived experience or teaching experience that demonstrates the clear ability to teach Art History to community college students.
Physical DemandsRange/Step class I - VII based on degree and teaching experience.
Salary RangePart-time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.

- Education Code §87408.6: no person shall be initially employed unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty days to determine if the person is free of active tuberculosis.
- Fingerprints are required. Fees for DOJ & FBI fingerprint report are employee responsibilities.
