Veterinary Technology Instructor - Part Time Note
This is a continuous Applicant Pool. The College will make hiring decisions according to the specific demands within each discipline.

- Foreign Transcripts:
Include a U.S. evaluation and translation. Contact the Human Resources website for a list of agencies providing foreign transcript services. - The District retains the right to extend time limits or initiate the recruitment/selection process anew at any stage.
- Applicants must have submitted a tuberculosis examination within the past sixty (60) days.
- Provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fees for DOJ and FBI fingerprint reports are the employee’s responsibility.
- Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee’s first day on the job.

Veterinary Technology Instructor - Part Time
Location:
Yuba College
- Organize and teach assigned lectures and laboratory courses in the veterinary technology curriculum.
- Prepare students to become eligible to take national board examinations and work as practicing Registered Veterinary Technicians.
- Prepare and complete course syllabi and outlines.
- Facilitate student learning by developing each student’s ability and designing varied and motivating learning environments, including distance learning.
- Collaborate with other related departments as necessary.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Registered veterinary technician in the state of California with current, valid registration free of disciplinary restrictions.
- Associate’s or higher degree in veterinary technology from an AVMA-accredited institution.
- At least four years’ experience in an area related to the subject matter of the course.
- Previous teaching, employment, or student experiences that enable successful teaching of veterinary technology.
- Understanding of the needs of a diverse student population as they relate to the mission of Yuba Community College District.
- Knowledge or experience in related disciplines such as biochemistry, biology, agriculture, animal science, or chemistry.
- Experience supervising and/or working with a diverse student population.
- Background in using computers or technology in the classroom/laboratory; prior experience with interactive television, online, etc.
- Working knowledge of HTML authoring tools and online media-supported curriculum.
- Experience with both small and livestock/farm animals preferred.
Range/Step Class I - VII (Based on degree and teaching experience).
Salary RangeInformation to be provided upon request.
Benefits InformationPart‑time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.
