Part-Time Ethnic Studies Instructor – Yuba Community College District
Position Title: Part Time - Ethnic Studies Instructor
Location: Yuba City, CA 95991 (on-site, with distance learning possible)
FTE:
Part‑time (less than .60 FTE – no fringe benefits)
- Develop and deliver instruction for Ethnic Studies courses (up to 10 hours per week).
- Organize and teach all levels of Ethnic Studies, including evening and weekend assignments.
- Use appropriate teaching methods, including interactive television, online, and accelerated courses.
- Assess student learning outcomes each semester.
- Participate in department, division, and college‑wide initiatives and committees (optional).
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Qualifications andMinimum Requirements
- Academic Background: Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines or Bachelor’s degree + Master’s in Ethnic Studies:
- African American Studies / Black Studies / Africana Studies (Master’s)
- Asian American Studies (Master’s)
- Chicano Studies (Master’s)
- Native American / American Indian Studies (Master’s)
- Ethnic Studies (Master’s)
- All applicants must have a California Community Life credential in the subject matter area or an equivalency determination from the district.
- Applicants must provide fingerprint clearance prior to the first day on the job.
