Overview
Guest Advocate (Cashier or Front of Store Attendant/Cart Attendant) s role focuses on delivering exceptional guest service, assisting with store operations, and promoting available services and benefits. The position is typically part-time with flexible hours.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and assisting with daily tasks.
- Engage with guests to understand and solve their needs; respond to guest inquiries and resolve concerns.
- Inform guests about current promotions, store activities, and events; be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to improve guest experience.
- Explain and promote Target Loyalty programs; assist with sign-up as needed.
- Scan and bag items efficiently and accurately; follow food safety standards and company best practices.
- Minimize guest wait times while maintaining service and accuracy.
- Educate guests on features of the Target App (including Wallet) and direct them to use Order Pick-Up, Drive Up, and online ordering.
- Handle returns following register prompts; collaborate with leadership as needed while adhering to Target policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area; stock supplies during store hours and be available to guests.
- Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; work safely and report hazards.
- Support guest services such as order pick up, Drive-Up, and related duties, including compliance with applicable laws.
- Perform other duties as needed based on business needs.
- You enjoy interacting with guests and helping others, including team members.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, physically active environment with teamwork and problem-solving.
- You are open to a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times).
- Effective communication; positive language and attentiveness to guests’ needs.

- Ability to educate guests about products and services; operate handheld scanners and technology as directed.
- Ability to work independently and with a team; stay composed in a fast-paced setting; manage multiple tasks within time frames.
- Accurately handle checkout operations and transactions; support cash office operations as needed.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise (up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 44 pounds occasionally); comfortable with standing, walking, and mobility for the shift.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays; reliable attendance.
- Willingness to work in varying temperatures and environments (Drive-Up, carryout, etc.).
