You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The role requires familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry and adherence to Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance, providing center-level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS).

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment:
  Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Compliance with state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
