St. John the Baptist in Ypsilanti is seeking a Men's Campus Ministry Coordinator. This is a full-time position that reports to the Director of Campus Ministry.
General SummaryThe Campus Minister assists the Director of Campus Ministry in creating a community of Spirit-filled, missionary disciples of Jesus Christ within the college communities of EMU and WCC.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Take initiative to build new relationships with college students who are outside the Church for the purpose of bringing them into the Church
- Coordinate and support evangelization efforts for college students through life- changing encounters with Christ
- Coordinate small groups aimed at building discipleship in community
- Coordinate large gatherings:
Thursday night gatherings, Sunday hospitality, etc - Coordinate outreach efforts to intentionally engage and connect with men on both campuses.
- Work alongside the Director to plan and execute retreats for college students
- Assist in creating a culture among the students that is mission-focused
- Mentor men with leadership potential, equipping them to effectively lead and disciple other students through the power of the Holy Spirit.
- Disciple student leaders to envision and coordinate evangelization efforts on their college campus with a particular concern for those students who do not practice their faith
- Assist in developing and implementing a formation plan for college students.
- Team member is expected to work onsite and offsite when needed. Weekend and evening work is required
- Physical demands include walking, standing, sitting, stooping, and occasionally lifting boxes or bags that weigh up to 40 pounds
- Be a Spirit-filled disciple of Jesus Christ.
- Be passionate about equipping college students in the power of the Holy Spirit to proclaim Jesus!
- Have substantial experience in discipling others.
- Be committed to growing in holiness through daily prayer and interior conversion.
- Seek growth in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
- Be familiar with and agree with the basic principles of parish renewal outlined in Divine Renovation:
Bringing Your Parish from Maintenance to Mission by James Mallon. - A team player who is approachable, affable and winsome.
- Have a bachelor's degree in Catholic Theological Studies, Ministry, Religious Education or equivalent.
- Have a minimum of two years of ministry experience.
- Be comfortable giving presentations to groups.
- Pass a background check and attend local training for the protection of children and youth.
