Description:

Provides patient care as directed.
Administers medication and monitors patient medication compliance.
Performs treatments and assists with nurse sick calls and doctor's sick calls.
Assists with nursing management of chronic care clinics.
Responds to emergencies, providing emergency care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Performs subjective and objective assessments of patients.
Collects vital signs and documents all findings in a timely manner.
Collects urine and other bodily fluid specimens.
Prepares patients for release or transfer to other facilities by reviewing patient care and transfer summaries.
Ensures discharge medication orders are completed and forwarded to pharmacy services in a timely manner.
Participates in work-related training and institution training exercises.
Provides assistance to other healthcare staff.
Investigates and documents problem areas or areas of concern.
Reviews the shift report from preceding shifts.
Assists physicians with medical procedures.
Assumes the duties of other nurses during absences.
Counsels or provides education to patients regarding healthcare maintenance and prevention of disease.
Participates in quality assurance activities and provides training and work direction to licensed practical nurses.
Serves as a resource for other healthcare personnel at the direction of the Nursing Supervisor.
Serves as the lead clinical authority on-site in the absence of supervisory staff.
Participates in group programming and health and wellness activities.
Performs administrative duties as indicated and attends meetings.
Assumes duties of shift change as assigned, making shift work assignments and adjustments as necessary.
Performs or assists with the inventory and ordering of medical supplies.
Assists ancillary staff as needed to ensure patient care needs are met.
Conducts themselves professionally and in accordance with standards of conduct at all times.
Performs other duties as assigned.
