Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro/Spine (5S) – St. Elizabeth Youngstown
Join Bon Secours Mercy Health in the role of Registered Nurse (RN) focusing on neuro/spine care. This full‑time night shift position is housed in a multidisciplinary team, caring for acute neuro/spine injuries and post‑operative patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop nursing care plans.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with state and BSMH policies.
- Act as a point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments.
- Serve as a safety advocate, participating in quality improvement and patient advocacy, including spiritual, palliative, and ethics collaboration.
- Provide education to patients and families, and facilitate learning among nursing staff.
- Engage in interdisciplinary team collaboration to establish goals and strategies for discharge or continuing care.
- Current RN license in the state of employment (or covered by the Multi‑State Nursing Compact).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS acceptable in lieu of BLS; preferred upon hire.
- Medical‑Surgical Nursing Certification (RN‑BC) preferred; other critical care certifications (CCRN, PCCN, CMSRN) preferred.
- One year of RN experience; six months in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to apply evidence‑based patient care.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under high stress and fluctuating workloads.

- Potential exposure to physical altercations, verbal abuse, restraints, and body fluids.
- Work in high noise levels, bright lights, and potential exposure to hazardous substances.
