Our client, a growing and innovation-driven manufacturer within the plastics industry, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance and reliability functions within a high-volume injection molding operation. This organization is committed to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, and is investing in strong leadership to drive long-term plant performance.
Position OverviewRole: As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading all maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, maximizing machine uptime, and maintaining facility infrastructure. You will oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs, manage capital projects, and develop a high-performing maintenance team. This position reports directly to plant leadership and plays a critical role in achieving operational and financial objectives.
Responsibilities and Functions- Lead all maintenance activities with safety as the highest priority for employees and contractors
- Drive preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives to eliminate unplanned downtime
- Improve key performance indicators related to equipment reliability and maintenance effectiveness
- Manage department budgets, capital planning, and cost controls
- Oversee capital projects and support engineering and plant improvement initiatives
- Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance management for maintenance personnel
- Optimize CMMS systems and work order processes for process reliability
- Coordinate internal and external maintenance resources in executing reliability programs
- Identify and address safety, environmental, quality, and production-related issues
- Facilitate team meetings and training programs
- Lead continuous improvement efforts aligned with LEAN principles
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and PLC-related issues as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience within an injection molding manufacturing environment (required)
- 2+ years of capital project management experience
- Experience with preventive maintenance and CMMS systems
- Exposure to LEAN or similar continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities
- Proactive, reliability-focused maintenance mindset
- Root Cause Analysis expertise
- Budgeting and financial performance management
- Project planning and resource management (Gantt charts)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and 5S safety principles
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems, and basic PLC troubleshooting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
