Generally used for instructors of seminars or non-credit courses. Used when an individual is teaching a segment of a class. For instance, in the Police Academy when an individual is brought in to address specific aspects of a course, such as finger printing, criminal investigation, evidence gathering techniques, etc. Used for courses in Health Professions such as CPR or First Aid that may lead to certification.
Used for courses in Real Estate, Tax, Accounting etc. for Continuing Education credits. Used in the English Language Institute (ELI) for Instructors working with students that English is a second language. These are hourly appointments. An hourly rate must be established and timesheet entered for payment. Approved through the Provost Office.
Position Information
* Part-time employees exceeding 30 hours consistently during the measurement period may qualify for health care.
* Total hours combined between both assignments must be considered.
