The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety is hiring permanent part-time Correctional Officers at Whitespruce Provincial Training Centre in Yorkton. We are seeking individuals who want to contribute to safer communities and support meaningful change in the lives of adult offenders. You will work with a collaborative team to deliver rehabilitation-focused services and promote reintegration.

To qualify, you typically need a university degree in Social Sciences, Law Enforcement diploma, or equivalent education and experience. A valid Class 5 drivers license and First Aid/CPR/AED certification (with at least 12 months before expiry) are required. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the criminal justice system, human behaviour, and cultural responsiveness, especially with Indigenous populations. Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills are essential.

Should you receive a successful offer of employment, you will be enrolled into a paid, 11-week Induction Training Program (ITP). The next ITP will start on April 20, 2026.

In this role, you will monitor and supervise offenders, lead programming, assess risk, apply policy and legislation, and respond to incidents using safe intervention strategies. You will support offenders with trauma, special needs, and diverse backgrounds.
