• As an OSG, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and well‑being of staff, visitors, and prisoners at HMP Millsike.
• Managing entry and exit procedures for staff, visitors, contractors, and vehicles.
• Providing exceptional customer service to visitors, fostering a welcoming and safe environment.
• Putting visitors at ease and answering questions about any aspect of prison life.
• Supporting visitors and recognising the emotional challenges of having a loved one in prison.
• Conducting regular patrols to maintain external security.
• Performing searches and confiscating forbidden items in line with policies.
• Escorting visitors and prisoners to ensure safety and security.
• Handling mail and maintaining logs to report contraband items.
• Supervising prisoner activities, including clothing and property exchanges.
• Operating the establishment's radio system and monitoring CCTV.
• Monitoring the prisoners' PIN Phone system and maintaining logs.
• Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures and seeking advice when needed.
• Performing administrative tasks to ensure accurate data maintenance.

• Basic to intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Motivated, hardworking and willing to learn.
