Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Scarborough, Hull and York Pathology Service (SHYPS) for a Senior Biomedical Scientist to join our Clinical Biochemistry Team at Hull Royal Infirmary. This role sits within the Specialist Section and offers the opportunity to contribute to a highly regarded and technically advanced service. Working collaboratively with the Chief Biomedical Scientist and the senior team, you will play a key role in the development, delivery and continuous improvement of the specialist biochemistry service.
The department provides a broad repertoire of specialist testing and is equipped with a range of analytical platforms, which includes two Mass Spectrometers, ICP-MS and HPLC.
As Senior Biomedical Scientist you will be responsible for the effective delivery of specialist biochemistry testing, ensuring high quality, accuracy and timely results. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of service processes, support the development of protocols, and collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide expert clinical advice. You will also mentor junior staff and participate in strategic planning and clinical governance activities.
QualificationsApplicants must be HCPC registered, possess a MSc or IBMS Higher Specialist Diploma, and be able to demonstrate in‑depth specialist knowledge in Clinical Biochemistry.
