Role Overview Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance & Risk Officer to join our Quality Assurance & Risk department. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in advised life insurance sales who understands FCA expectations and the realities of advising customers on protection products. You will be responsible for auditing advised sales, reviewing advice quality, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement through constructive feedback and coaching.

You will work closely with advisers, team leaders, and senior management to uphold high standards across the business.

Key Responsibilities Conduct quality assurance audits of advised life insurance sales, including call monitoring and full file reviews. Assess advice suitability, disclosures, affordability, needs analysis, and product recommendations in line with FCA regulations. Score audits against internal QA frameworks and key metrics, identifying trends, risks, and training needs. Provide clear, constructive feedback to advisers to support development and improve sales quality.

Support the implementation and ongoing review of QA frameworks, rules, and procedures. Assist with identifying potential conduct risks and supporting complaint investigations where required. Produce accurate QA reporting and contribute to management information (MI). Work collaboratively with sales management, compliance, and training teams to drive quality improvements. Stay up to date with FCA regulation, industry guidance, and best practice within advised sales.

Key Requirements Proven experience in advised life insurance (essential). Strong understanding of FCA regulation and compliance within a brokerage environment. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to assess advice objectively and consistently. Confident communicator, able to deliver feedback professionally and constructively. Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines. Professional, positive attitude and a strong team player.

Willingness to undertake ongoing CPD and professional qualifications (e.g. CII, ICA).
