Printhead Engineer

WE HAVE A VACANCY FOR A PART TIME PRINTHEAD ENGINEER

The position is to join our York based team at our busy office on Clifton Moor, York.

The role of a printhead technician is to refurbish / service exchange thermal printheads within our repair workshop. This position would be perfect for an ex fitter / maintenance engineer seeking an interesting engineering job without the demands of a factory environment.

Our customers return their Printheads from their production facilities to our workshop in York.

The printheads are booked into our ERP system and allocated workshop repair time. Each unit contains mechanical & electrical components. The printhead is disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and all wear and tear items replaced. After reassembly, the printhead is calibrated. Finally, a detailed service report is written and the unit despatched on our ERP system to the customer.

In addition to repairing printheads, the role also involves:

• Stock control using ERP system of printhead items, including reordering of items from suppliers.
• Generating printhead performance statistics using reports from an ERP system.
• Providing technical support to customers by telephone / email.
• Engineering tasks, however as the product is a thermal printer, all the work is carried out in a clean workshop.

The ideal applicant for this position should:

• Have a long engineering mechanical background with an eye for fine detail.
• Be confident to work with PC’s (Windows Office Packages) and have an excellent telephone manner for dealing with customers.
• Soldering and electrical skills.

Remuneration:

£13.50 p/hr ( 3 days per week – 24 hrs total)

Occasionally overtime may be required in “peak” times
