Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Our Client are hiring a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to work across a large, well-structured site in York. With a team of engineers on-site and access to progression and training opportunities, this is an ideal role for engineers with a strong background in heavy industry, FMCG, or food production.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and equipment

Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, completing effective fault finding and repairs

Work on both mechanical and electrical systems (mechanical or electrical bias considered)

Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives

Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety and food hygiene standards

Provide on-call cover as required

Experience,

Skills & Qualifications

Time-served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification
(NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent)

Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing

Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance knowledge

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

Experience with PLCs, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and automated systems is advantageous

Flexible, proactive, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Background

Food or FMCG manufacturing experience is essential
