Job Title:
Desktop Support – Software Deployment

Location: York – 4 days onsiteper week

Based in York with hybrid working options, you’ll play a key role in software deployment, providing high-level technical support, and ensuring smooth operations across the business. Desktop Support – Software Deployment Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the deployment of new desktops to R&D Lab teams
  • Liaise with the lab team to deploy specialist laboratory software & connect to instruments, onto new windows 11 devices
  • Provide first and second-line support to internal users, troubleshooting and resolving software-related issues.
  • Assist with system upgrades, software installations, and system configurations.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of desktop environments, collaborating with other IT teams for effective resolution of complex issues.
  • Maintain documentation for software configurations, troubleshooting guides, and deployment processes.
  • Support with the roll-out of 180 Laptops with Windows 11 built to R&D employees/Users
  • Asset Management

Desktop Support – Software Deployment Requirements

  • Proven experience in a desktop roll-out or software deployment expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of desktop Windows 11, software installations, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
  • Understanding of networks/device connectivity i.e. DHCP, Static IP, subnet mask, gateways
