HMCTS is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family Courts and Tribunals in England and Wales. We support court users and HMCTS colleagues to provide access to justice.
Your Role- Manage criminal digital files in preparation for hearings, handling correspondence and general enquiries.
- Respond to enquiries from criminal justice agencies, solicitors, barristers and the public via post, email, telephone and face‑to‑face.
- Deal with a full range of serious criminal work and manage juror administration.
- Carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court/tribunal system or support other HMCTS functions.
- Friendly, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, proactive and effective customer support via phone and email.
- Excellent time‑management, prioritisation and multitasking abilities.
- Adaptable to using various software packages and working in a busy environment.
Statement of Suitability. A sift based on the statement of suitability may be held if a large number of applications are received.
Further Details- Standard full‑time hours: 37 hours per week. Part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing options available if they meet business needs.
- Minimum part‑time hours: 22.2 hours per week, Monday‑Wednesday.
- Office‑based role providing HMCTS services to the public.
This role is not eligible for new Skilled Worker visas following the July 2025 changes. Applicants must present and maintain the legal right to work in the UK.
Working ArrangementsHybrid working may be offered, subject to local estate capacity, with a minimum of 60% office presence. All employees must work from the UK.
